Africa-Press – Eswatini. The power of women is on full display as Eswatini shines on big stages, celebrating the remarkable achievements of its female leaders.
At the She Reigns Africa Network Summit and African Women Achievers Award 2025, held on August 30, 2025, at the prestigious Sandton Hotel in Johannesburg, the contributions of 100 of Africa’s most influential women were honored.
Among them was the exceptional Mbalenhle Manana, a true embodiment of empowerment and resilience. This historic gathering, founded by the passionate advocate for women’s empowerment Natasha Mncube, aimed to uplift and amplify the voices of women across the continent. Mncube’s dedication to fostering a supportive community for women is evident not just in this initiative but also in her role as the Director of the Shining Stars Foundation and the Southern Africa Brand Ambassador for the Zikomo Africa Awards.
Mbalenhle Manana, who has made significant strides in the fashion industry by successfully running Eswatini’s top model agency, was honored for her trailblazing efforts. Reflecting on her participation at the summit, she shared, “This was the best event I’ve ever attended, an event about SuperWomen, Power Houses, trailblazers, and industry leaders where we get to talk about issues affecting women in the continent. It was a big event where I learned a lot and to believe in myself more.”
The summit was not merely a celebration but a transformative experience, allowing women to connect over shared challenges and aspirations. Manana emphasized the empowering atmosphere created by fellow women founders, where they could discuss vital issues and celebrate their achievements.
The event conveyed powerful messages of resilience, urging women to be “unbroken, unshakable, and unstoppable.” “We learned that as women, we must rise above and let our scars become the stars that guide others,” Manana noted. “Transform your pain into purpose and unleash your inner strength and resilience. We need to be strong and never forget who we are by nature, who God made us to be, to reign, lead, and become powerful.”
Many women across the continent have survived pain that threatened to consume their souls, abuse, doubt, and missed opportunities due to societal barriers simply because they are female. “We were reminded that we matter, and our worth isn’t defined by our circumstances, background, or past,” Manana highlighted. “Our tomorrow is brighter; it holds promises and renewed hope. Yesterday was a lesson; today is a gift—embrace its beauty.”
As Manana continues to shine as a leader in the fashion industry, her recognition at the SheReignsAfrica Summit serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for women across Eswatini and beyond. Her journey reflects the potential within every woman to rise, lead, and make a significant impact in their communities.
In celebrating the achievements of women like Manana, the summit reinforced the notion that together, they can shape a brighter future for all, encouraging a movement of empowerment and change across the continent.
