Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Minister for Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo, has encouraged learners at Lozitha High School to remain focused and give their best in their studies, assuring them of the ministry’s continued support in improving their learning environment.
The minister emphasised that this stage of their education is critical in shaping their future and urged learners to take their studies seriously. He also called on teachers, particularly headteachers, to work closely with the Ministry of Education and Training to ensure that learners thrive and reach their full potential.
Nxumalo made the remarks during a visit to Lozitha High School, where he received a donation on behalf of the school from Botho University. The donation included school uniforms and sanitary towels, aimed at supporting learners and addressing key challenges that affect attendance and academic performance.
He commended Botho University for responding to the real needs of the school, noting that such initiatives demonstrate the importance of partnerships in the education sector.
“Collaborations like these remind us that education is a shared responsibility and that when institutions work together, learners benefit the most,” said Nxumalo.
Speaking at the event, Botho University Assistant Manager for Student Affairs and Alumni, Sindi Motsa, said the donation formed part of the university’s Back-to-School Campaign, which seeks to motivate learners to remain committed to their studies and pursue academic excellence.
She added that Botho University remains committed to supporting communities and contributing to the development of education in the country.
The event was also attended by Lozitha High School Headteacher Mandla Mathabela, who welcomed the donation and expressed appreciation for the support shown by both the Ministry of Education and Training and Botho University.
The donation is expected to positively impact learners by improving school attendance, boosting confidence, and creating a more supportive learning environment.
