Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade has announced the appointment of a new Board for the Eswatini Competition Commission, which will serve a three-year term, with Minister Manqoba Khumalo making the announcement at a press conference on December 17, 2025.

Addressing the media, the Minister said the appointments form part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve institutional performance, accountability and oversight across parastatals under its mandate.

He noted that these entity play a key role in regulating markets, promoting investment, supporting small enterprises, protecting consumers and ensuring standards compliance.

“It is essential that these institutions are guided by boards with the right mix of professional expertise, sector representation and governance experience,” Khumalo said.

ESWATINI COMPETITION COMMISSION BOARD MEMBERS

Miccah Nkabinde Chairperson; Master of Science in Leadership and Change; representing the Eswatini National Pension Fund (first term).

Welcome Ncobizwe Nxumalo Master of Laws in International Commercial Law; representing the Economic Association of Eswatini (first term).

Renata Ntshangase Master of Business Administration; representing the Ministry of Finance (first term).

Noncedo Ncedile Dlamini Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance; representing the Eswatini Institute of Accountants (first term).

Mandla Ntshakala B-Tech in Chemical Engineering; representing the Consumer Forum of Eswatini (second term).

Minister Hon Manqoba Khumalo said the Board brings together expertise in economics, law, finance, consumer protection and regulatory oversight, which is central to the Commission’s mandate of promoting fair competition and safeguarding consumer interests.

Speaking on behalf of the Board, Chairperson Miccah Nkabinde thanked the Ministry and Cabinet for the trust placed in them. He said the Board is committed to supporting business development and economic growth, while adhering to the ethical standards of the institution. Nkabinde added that the Board will work in line with Nkwe, His Majesty’s call for fast, effective and people-centred service delivery.
