Africa-Press – Eswatini. Montigny Investments won Overall Best Exporter of Year Award at the Annual Exporters Awards held at Happy Valley yesterday.
There were 16 companies which walked away with awards out of over 20 companies which applied for recognition in the 11 categories.
Montigny Investment together with Usuthu Forest Products exports timber products to South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Mozambique. This is a Swazi owned company with over 800 employees and one of the leading timber growers in Southern Africa. The Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo said the annual exporters awards serve as a key enabler for market penetration to the winners as business seeks to expand into different markets.
“Profiling your company as a recipient of these prestigious awards positions that company as a reliable and experienced supplier in exports. Global clients will take note of these awards in your profile and will appreciate that they are dealing with reputable establishments that they can trust with their business,” he said.
He said the exporter awards recognised top exporters, consistent exporters over the years, as well as new entrants in the export business. Khumalo stated that this was encouraging, noting that companies were enthusiastic about doing business in Eswatini, in particular exporting to other markets across the globe.
He added that it was worth noting that even during these tough economic times the country still had major companies exporting from the country and some had been exporting for a number of years, as well as others coming in to setup their factories in Eswatini.
