Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mbabane Swallows Ugandan striker Bashir Mutanda has reportedly gone AWOL (absent without official leave) from the team.

The player’s disappearance comes after the departure of Ghanaian coach and Deputy Governor Christopher Ennin, who recently penned a short term deal with Ghana premier league outfit Berekum Chelsea.

Interestingly, the duo previously left the ‘Beautiful Birds’ three months ago before returning a month later together with central defender Kingsley Kwaki, who is still part of the team.

A source close to the matter revealed that the sturdy striker left the red and white glamour side on Friday and he is believed to have returned to his native country.

“Bashir left the country last week without informing any official about his departure. He is believed to be in Uganda,”said the source.

Meanwhile, Swallows Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza said he was locked in a meeting when contacted.

“I am in a meeting at the moment and I will send a response,” he briefly said.

However, Mabuza did not respond to the questionnaire when tried late last night.

The former Mumbara City striker has made a few appearances for the capital city giants. He came with an injury upon his return recently, hence, he was on the treatment table.
