Mbabane East Member of Parliament candidate, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza caused a stir when he confronted the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) and accused them of favourable treatment of one of his competitors during the early morning of the second voting exercise at Ka-Boyce Primary School friday.
Ginindza confronted the EBC lashing out that one of the candidates, Welcome Dlamini was using unorthodox means to garner votes and in his belief, the elections were not free and fair.
“I reported early in the week to the police that people were being handed out cash but the police have not done anything. This is not right. Even outside there are people in cars who are dishing out cash,” Ginindza bellowed.
Accompanied by the police outside the Ka-Boyce Primary School, it turned out there was none of what Ginindza was complaining about.

The turnout was impressive as the voting exercise went on seamlessly.

Interviewed by Eswatini Financial Times, Dlamini said the turnout is impressive and the elections are free and fair.
“If you had any doubts about the legitimacy of the elections you can see the number of people here who are voting freely and choosing a candidate of their choice without any pressure from anyone. For me, this is democracy and the elections are free and fair,” Dlamini said.
