Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade has, through the Regulatory and Quality Infrastructure Development Department, hosted three workshops to sensitise its stakeholders about the 2022 Eswatini Quality Awards to be held in November this year.
Two of the workshops were held virtually while the third one was a physical meeting dedicated to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Chief Quality Systems Administrator, Phindile Priscilla Dlamini, said the department managed to reach out to a number of stakeholders during the workshops with the aim to sensitise and assist them in filling up the awards application forms.
“We managed to reach out to over 135 stakeholders during our virtual and physical workshops and our partners show great interest in participating in this year’s Quality Awards,” Dlamini added.
The Quality Awards is a programme that seeks to recognise organisations that have made a conscious effort and commitment in promoting quality culture in Eswatini through use of quality principles, practices and management systems in their business operations.
The objectives of the workshops were to generate awareness on the importance of Eswatini Quality Awards and how organisations can participate in this year’s awards, to provide guidance to local companies or private and public organisations for completing the awards forms and to raise awareness on participation of the MSMEs in the 2022 Eswatini Quality Awards.
The first and second virtual workshops recorded 46 and 56 participants respectively while the physical workshop was attended by 33 participants. Organisations showed a huge interest to participate in this year’s awards hence the attendance was very encouraging to the organisers.
After the completion of the three workshops, stakeholders showed interest in participating in the awards as they started contacting the office to seek relevant information.
“The office has been receiving an influx of calls enquiring about the Quality Awards including where they can access the forms and how they can be assisted in filling the forms,” Dlamini said.
Applications for participating in the 2022 Eswatini Quality Awards are open until the September 30, 2022 and application forms are available and downloadable from the government website https://www.gov.sz/index.php/eswatini-quality-awards-category-forms-2022 and Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA) website: www.swasa.co.sz.
