Africa-Press – Eswatini. Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu is allegedly one of the Cabinet Ministers leaking information to the media and, she was recorded by another Minister during a meeting, directing an alleged editor of the Times of eSwatini to publish a positive story about Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini.
According to the information, the Foreign Minister said; “nikhumbule kufaka Prime Minister ku-front page atocacisa lendzaba”.
But the story that was a subject of discussion between Pholile Shakantu and the alleged editor on the other line, could not be ascertained and the Foreign Minister did not specify.
Worth-noting, the Foreign Minister is a close ally of the PM together with Home Affairs Minister Princess Lindiwe and, the Prime Minister has been threatening to expose Ministers leaking information particularly editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
But the editor received information exposing how the Foreign Minister communicates with the Times, leaking information in favour of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister appears to be privately working as the ‘part-time’ “Chief editor of the Times”.
Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli declined to comment about the matter.
On another note, the Prime Minister had threatened to reveal names of Cabinet Ministers leaking information but it appears that, it’s the PM and his faction of Cabinet Ministers who “communicates with the Times and further influence editorial content”.
