Africa-Press – Eswatini. Linda Hlanze, a former University student and member of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO) was allegedly shot by the police during a protest rejecting the Thabani Nkomonye’s Inquest Report on Friday.
The protestors were marching to the Manzini Regional Headquarters, however, the police responded by firing shots.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) confirmed the shooting adding that one of those who were injured was Linda Hlanze, a former University student.
“One of the people who were shot is Linda Hlaze,a former student who is a member of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO)”,said the Students President.
The protestors were marching during the commemoration of Thabani Nkomonye’s death who was allegedly killed by the police, his body was found dumped at Nhlambeni.
