Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini avoided an event organized by the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland(TUCOSWA) at Manzini Salesian Sports Grounds, he attended the May Workers Day organized by the Tinkhundla linked Federation of Eswatini Trade Unions (FESWATU) at Simunye on Thursday.
Addressing the workers, the PM urged employees to unite with Government and employers, correcting the narrative suggesting that, employers and employees are enemies.
“I call for a new era in industrial relations, employers and trade unions must not view each other as enemies but as partners.Employees are not enemies of employers, and employers are not enemies of employees. When one side suffers, we all suffer. When one side succeeds, we all must move forward,” said the Prime Minister.
The PM was boed last year during the TUCOSWA May Day at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground-Mbabane and this year, he opted to attend an event organized by FESWATU, a federation of trade unions linked to the Tinkhundla system.
