Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prince Sicalo, the Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Defense and State Security allegedly refused to be introduced to soldiers by Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze and the bone of contention could not be ascertained at this juncture.
This was during the ongoing “Vusela” meetings in the various Army Barracks, Fakudze met soldiers at the Army Headquarters last week, Prince Sicalo was present.
But when the time came for the PS to address the soldiers, he refused to do so even after the Army Commander introduced him.
“Asale ngisukumisa uMntfwaneNkhosi longa-nga PS atonivusela,” said the Army Commander.
Worth-noting, after five (5) minutes, Defense PS Prince Sicalo was sitting and visibly not bothered by what the Army Commander was saying, requesting him to address the soldiers, Fakudze who was visibly embarrassed, subsequently urged the soldiers to continue clapping hands for “uMntfwaneNkhosi as he prepares to stand-up and address them”.
But despite consitent requests, Prince Sicalo refused to address the soldiers and the clapping of hands continued for about ten (10) minutes.
Army Spokesperson Major Sandile Gwebu declined to comment about the refusal of the Principal Secretary to address the soldiers.
On another note, Prince Hlangabeza, the ‘Minister of Defense and State Security was present at Nokwane Army Headquarters.
Even though the bone of contention could not be ascertained, Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze stands accused of corruption and his alleged corrupt conduct has divided the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force (UEDF).
