Africa-Press – Eswatini. Church leaders gathered at Ludzidzini Royal Residence on 6 April 2026 , where Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Prince Simelane, called on pastors to intensify the preaching of the Gospel, saying they must follow the example of Noah in remaining steadfast and obedient in their calling.
Prince Simelane referenced Noah, who warned people of the coming flood and called them to repentance, to emphasize that pastors must likewise continue proclaiming the Gospel with urgency, guiding people to turn to God while there is still opportunity.
Prince Simelane was addressing pastors as they bid farewell to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, the Queen Mother, following a series of Easter services marked by national unity, worship, and reflection. He expressed gratitude for the successful conduct of the Easter period, noting that no incidents of violence or misfortune were reported across the country during the gatherings.
“No one was reported sick and rushed to hospital. In some countries we hear that during such gatherings people can be killed using bombs, but fortunately we did not experience that in our country. For that, we thank God,” he said.
The Minister further extended appreciation to Their Majesties for the hospitality shown to church leaders throughout the Easter period. He said pastors were well cared for, from meals to accommodation. “ Some pastors said the hospitality was amazing, from breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” he added.
Prince Simelane also commended the spiritual leadership demonstrated by Their Majesties during the Easter services from Friday to Sunday, noting that their messages contributed to the moral and spiritual strengthening of the nation.
He described the Easter commemoration as a reminder of the central message of Christianity, emphasizing that Jesus Christ is the Saviour. Using a practical illustration, he likened Christ’s saving power to a breakdown vehicle capable of towing all types of vehicles.
“A breakdown car can tow all types of cars, whether it is a lorry, train, bus, or tractor. In the same way, Jesus Christ is the one who saves people from deep sin,” he said.
He urged believers to seek Christ while He is still available, referencing the biblical passage Isaiah 55:6, which calls on people to seek the Lord while He may be found and call upon Him while He is near.
The gathering marked the closing of the Easter period with a call for continued faith, unity, and spiritual renewal across the nation.
