Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Government of Eswatini is making progress in the development of the Pigg’s Peak-Bulembu (MR20) and Pigg’s Peak-Bulandzeni (MR2) roads.
According to the African Development Bank (AfDB), Eswatini had received financing towards the cost of the Development of Manzini Golf Course Interchange and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for an updated feasibility study and detailed designs for the said road. As a result, the government is looking for a consultancy to provide the services for updating the said feasibility study.
The services included under this project are undertaking the requisite engineering, economic and environmental studies and identification of options for optimal, cost-effective and economically justified standards for upgrading to the paved standard of approximately 51.4km of sections of gravel roads along the country’s eastern road corridor in the Hhohho Region.

In July 2020, the chief roads engineer alluded to the fact that the the money (E28 million) was an actual expenditure that catered for the payment of, among other things, consultancies, road designs, reviews of road designs and compensations. He said people and companies to be affected by the construction of the road were compensated.
