PROPHET PROMISE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY BY GIVING BACK

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Christmas Day on December 25, 2025, was marked by more than festive meals and gift exchanges in the communities of Zone 4 and Siphocosini.

It became a day of compassion, dignity and renewed hope as Prophet Promise, whose birth name is Sithembiso N. Shongwe, celebrated his birthday through service to the elderly and vulnerable.

Since 2016, the Christmas Box of Hope, founded by Prophet Promise under The Upper Room of Prayer, has grown into a powerful outreach initiative that transforms Christmas from a season of need into one of abundance. What began as a simple act of giving has evolved into a consistent, bi-annual mission rooted in faith, leadership and community responsibility.

“My birthday is not a day for me to be served, but a day to serve,” said Prophet Promise. “When I look into the eyes of a grandmother who thought she had been forgotten, I see the heart of Christ. This is the true purpose of the Gospel being the hands and feet of Jesus where it matters most.”

Each Box of Hope distributed on Christmas Day contained food parcels, warm blankets and clothing. Beyond meeting physical needs, the boxes delivered a message of dignity, reminding recipients that they are seen, valued and loved. The initiative reflects a core belief that the Gospel must not only be preached but demonstrated through action.

Among the beneficiaries was Gogo Zwane of Zone 4, who received her third Box of Hope. Living alone with her children working in South Africa, the support has become a vital lifeline. The outreach extends beyond Christmas, with Prophet Promise and youth from Chosen Generation of Jesus Christ planning follow-up visits to assist with yard cleaning and firewood collection.

The team also returned to Mkhulu Ndwandwe, ensuring continuity of care, and reached first-time recipients Gogo Vilakati and Gogo Hadebe. In Siphocosini, Gogo Mahlalela, part of the initiative since 2017, stood as a symbol of its lasting impact.

Through the Christmas Box of Hope, faith was turned into action, proving that leadership rooted in service can restore hope, dignity and human connection.
