Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mzamo Sikhondze, the Deputy Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has died.
Sikhondze who was active in the movement, participating in border blockades, allegedly died in the early hours on Sunday.
In a public statement released by PUDEMO through Secretary General Wandile Dludlu, the political organization said it was deeply hurt by the latest developments.
“We know the deep love, passion and unflinching compassion he had for the course of the poor. Cde Mzamo “Wabantu” as he was fondly known, had from his youth days and growing up in the structures of PUDEMO to be a national leader demonstrated unwavering commitment to the liberation of the people of Swaziland. We have been dealt a heavy blow in battle to lose one of its truest battle soldier and leader.If mountains and rivers could speak, the cry would be unstoppable for one of the finest activists, organizers,agitators and Marxists that PUDEMO through her SWAYOCO ranks produced has fallen. Macetjeni, kaMkhweli, Lavumisa, Msunduza, Moneni and Khoza battles were led from the front by you Cde Mzamo.The oppressed masses of our people have been rendered poorer indeed today.Thank you very much son of the soil for your sacrifice,” reads a statement released by PUDEMO Secretary General Wandile Dludlu.
