PUDEMO PRESIDENT:I will never shout Viva Gawuzela again!

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has come-out to clarify that he would never shout “Viva Gawuzela” when addressing the public.

It is alleged that SWALIMO President Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane called the PUDEMO President to complain why he was not mentioned when Makhanya was addressing workers during the May Day.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the PUDEMO President said he had just realized that one of the three(3) Members of Parliament(MPs) needed special mentioning even when he was a President of a political party.

He said when he addressed the workers during the May Day Celebrations he shouted “Viva SWALIMO” and by so doing he was referring to all SWALIMO leaders and their members.

“From now onwards, I will mention MPs Bacede and Mthandeni because they are not members of any political party. Once they form a political party, I will mention their party not their names. I cannot be forced to mention any leader by name, what is so special about that leader? Look, I can say ‘Viva Timothy’ if I want to, I am not a boy to mention certain leaders and from now onwards, I will not shout Viva Gawuzela, those who are aggrieved about this must live with it”, said the PUDEMO President.

Makhanya maintained that people must get used to him mentioning the two MPs who are not members of any political party adding that the other MP forfeited the status of being mentioned after forming a political party.

As a result, he said only the organization would be mentioned not an individual.

When asked to share a comment, SWALIMO President Mduduzi Simelane said the PUDEMO President had a right to express himself the way he likes.

“First I wonder how come this fits as a topic for discussion and lastly the President (Makhanya) has a right to call things or not call things in any way he likes”, said the SWALIMO President.
