Africa-Press – Eswatini. A South African businessman, Madoda Vilakazi, says reliable water and electricity supply in Eswatini makes it easy to do business in the country.
Vilakazi, who had come to introduce his new paint brand called Gezile Coating, told the media on Friday evening that it was much easier to do business in the country compared to his home country South Africa (SA) and other countries. Vilakazi, who is the founder of Gezile Industries based in Kwazulu Natal Provide, launched his new product in Eswatini at Hilton Garden Inn on Friday night.
Product
He stated that since he started building relationships with the local hardwares that would be selling his product; he had not encountered any problems. He stated that emaSwati should be grateful for their peaceful country, as such made it easy to conduct business. He noted that in his country it was not easy to get one’s product in the retail shops shelves, whereas here in Eswatini it was easy. He said what made it easy was that in Eswatini, businesses were still owned by indigenous businesspeople. The businessman further highlighted that the cost of fuel here in Eswatini was still lower compared to SA and other countries and that also attracts investors into Eswatini. Vilakati mentioned that another element that attracted him into doing business in Eswatini, were the customs laws at the ports of entry.
Transparent
He said the laws here, were strict but very professional and transparent. He said ever since importing his products into Eswatini, he had never encountered issues at the boarder post requiring him to bribe an official. Vilakazi further mentioned that the country was peaceful to the extent that even a foreign businessperson could not entirely feel as if they were in a foreign country. Speaking about his business, he stated that Gezile Industries is a manufacturing company that offers a variety of high-quality building materials, from paint to aluminium products. He stated that his business objectives was to be an efficient, sustainable and professionally run building and construction material plant in Southern Africa; to carry out environmentally sensitive and friendly operations; to contribute to the transformation plans of the SADC; deliver an efficient and effective service to hardware stores and contractors, especially the emerging contractors and those who come from a disadvantaged background.
Service
He said they also aimed to provide quality service with safety as a priority; to recognise staff as a major resource through provision of job security and comfortable working conditions to the total workforce and empower and promote the workforce as far as possible from within the company. Vilakazi mentioned that currently, in Eswatini they were bringing only the painting products, which would be sold at different hardwares like Buy Cash, Build-It, Multi build Hardware, Creative Perspective, J & E Hardware and Choice Hardware, to name a few.
He explained that Gezile Paint is a high quality water-based product, formulated for substrates such as plastered and concrete surface, wood, asphalt, rhinolite, fiber cement surfaces, concrete and steel roof.
