Africa-Press – Eswatini. Sammy Dlamini, the removed SwaziMed Chairman who stands accused of incubating corruption within the country’s largest medical scheme has approached Cabinet amid a serious breakdown in the administration of the Fund at the Governing Board level.

The latest developments come after exposing alleged corruption within SwaziMed that resulted to emaSwati struggling to access medical care despite paying for their Medical Aid at SwaziMed.

Sammy Dlamini was subsequently removed by the Board of Directors that went on to suspend Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane through a resolution of a meeting held at Hilton Hotel-Mbabane on Tuesday evening.

When avoiding the Board meeting, the removed Chairman wrote to the Board of Directors informing them about his decision to report the issues to Government.

“The issues relating to the Fund have rapidly developed into a shareholder issue threatening the very existence of the Fund and therefore requiring decisions by the Shareholders.I have for this reason referred the issues to the Principal Foundation Shareholder, the Government for consultation and decision. This process is underway and await its outcome,” reads the letter in part.

Reached for comments earlier, the removed Board Chairman told this publication that, the issues were being handled internally.

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo declined to comment about the matter.

On another note, the Board went on to suspend Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane, the alleged mastermind in the multimillion within SwaziMed pending investigations.
