Africa-Press – Eswatini. The weekend brought electrifying volleyball action to Olympia, Lobamba, as the second edition of the Mula Sport Volleyball Series unfolded. Among the standout performers were the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and Correctional Sunrise, who both delivered dominant performances to the delight of spectators.

REPS showcased their skill and discipline on the court in a commanding match against the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), securing a clean 3-0 victory. Their teamwork and precision were on full display, as they controlled the tempo from the first serve to the final point.

Correctional Sunrise also had a stellar outing, emerging as one of the top teams of the series. They faced the formidable Bob Cats and overcame a spirited challenge to win 3-1. Correctional Sunrise then went on to face hosts Olympia, cruising to a decisive 3-0 victory and cementing their status as strong contenders in the tournament.

Organizers praised the competitive spirit and sportsmanship displayed by all participating teams and confirmed that preparations are already underway for the next leg of the series.

Praising the team’s performance coache Themba Sifundza of Correctional Sunrise said that he was impressed with how the team has played. “I was playing for the youth squad this weekend. Said Sifundza “We are trying to prepare them for Zone 6 so that they can take place from the seniors. They played very well with the first game winning 3-0 and the second game they won 3-0. ” He stated.

He further emphasized that they are pushing for a gold medal in the next tournament. “We also want to push for the gold medal. It’s not easy but we want to go to Zone 6 with 18 positive players because everyone would be participating even players from the SADC region. So we want to push for the finals.” He added.

The Mula Sport Volleyball Series continues to serve as a platform for local teams to showcase their talent and grow the sport within the country. With teams like REPS and Correctional Sunrise setting the bar high, volleyball fans can look forward to more intense action as the series progresses.
