‘SA LEADERS WANT THE BEST FOR ESWATINI’

Africa-Press – Eswatini. South African leaders want nothing but the best for Eswatini.
Prime Minister Sipho Cleopas Dlamini said he has met some seasoned politicians such as Jacob Zuma who know very well the contributions made by Eswatini towards the South African struggle.

He added that the young generation such as Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julias Malema was able to say what they say because of contributions made by Eswatini and other neighbouring countries towards the struggle.

The prime minister was speaking during the commemoration of the 12th Annual Number 43 Trelawney Park KwaMagogo event held at Royal Villas yesterday. He explained that Eswatini played a very subtle, but effective role to the South African course.

“The first time I met Jacob Zuma before he became president was at KwaMagogo. He came there as somebody who was familiar with the place, he appeared to know where he was going like he had been there before,” the prime minister said.

He added that when people say things about Eswatini, especially the young people, people like Julias (referring to Malema) was because they were ignorant of the role Eswatini played in the South Africa struggle for freedom.

“I wish he could be told that he is where he is and be able to say the things that he says because of the contributions that Eswatini made,” the prime minister said. Dlamini said a lot had been done by KwaMagogo to resuscitate the culture so that people do not forget it and the contributions made by the country.

He emphasised that it was not just Eswatini, but also other neighbouring countries played a major role towards the South African struggle. “The other day we had Jeff Radebe here as a special envoy of the president, He spoke very fondly of Eswatini. He said he was from KwaZulu-Natal and he is the last person to wish for bad things to happen in the country,” the prime minister stated.

He added that Radebe told him about Lomahasha, a place he thought he was not even aware of and this showed that Radebe was really fond of the kingdom. The prime minister gave Malema credit when it comes to addressing the issue of the South African Airline, saying, the EFF leader made some sense on that issue.
