Security Officers Added to Salary Review Says PS Shabangu

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Public Service has assured the nation that security officers will fully benefit from the ongoing salary review payouts.

Principal Secretary in the Ministry, Mthu Shabangu, confirmed this in response to concerns that security personnel may have been excluded from the salary review implementation.

“Let me assure you that security officers are included in the report and will be paid their dues during implementation,” Shabangu emphasized.

Addressing Circulating ConcernsThis publication has learnt that some officers within the security sector, particularly those under His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), had expressed worry after reports circulated suggesting their exclusion.

Their main concern stemmed from the belief that consultations had not been properly conducted, leading to misunderstandings about their inclusion. Some officers pointed out that the current salary review framework features notches up to level five, while security officers’ notching structures traditionally go up to level ten.

Government’s Commitment

By clarifying the matter, the Principal Secretary has reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring that no sector is left behind, especially the nation’s dedicated security personnel who play a vital role in maintaining peace and stability.

The clarification is expected to ease anxieties and strengthen trust as the salary review implementation moves forward.
