Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has called Imbali Regiment to Mbangweni Royal Residence for the Shiselweni Reed Dance next weekend, October 13.
His Majesty’s message was communicated by the interim Indvuna of the regiment, Bongiwe Hlatshwako at Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday.
Imbali is expected to arrive at Mbangweni on Friday for registration. Imbali is led by Inkhosatana Sakhizwe following her appointment by His Majesty King Mswati III recently.
“Imbali is expected to bring their reed on the day, which they will deliver the next day Saturday October 14. On Sunday October 15 they will continue to dance before Their Majesties,” she said.
She reminded chiefs to delegate four male members who will accompany the Imbali and monitor their well-being throughout the ceremony.

The Shiselweni Reed Dance follows the successful ceremony, held at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
The Shiselweni Reed dance has also been growing in attendance over the years, as it also attracts thousands of imbali. Both acting overseers of the Imbali Hlangabeza Mdluli and Sijabuliso Ndzinisa were also present.
