Africa-Press – Eswatini. It all ends here! South African coach Selaotse’ Sly’ Mosala has parted ways with Mbabane Highlanders. This comes after the bitter-sweet relationship with the capital city giants following exit in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Reports suggest that the coach packed his bags yesterday morning for his native country before he was served with the letter by the Chief Executive Officer Clement Dlamini to end his marriage with the club. Mosala had joined the crowd-pullers last season replacing current Green Mamba mentor Ernest Mavuso. A source close to the matter said the former Sekhukhune United assistant coach had already left for South Africa.

“I saw him at Oshoek border gate at around 9am and he confided that he was not coming back,” said the source. Highlanders Chief Executive Officer Clement Dlamini said they were yet to meet the coach.

“We were trying to make an appointment with the coach, to meet him on Monday (today) to hear his side of the story. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find him at his apartment. We were not happy with his conduct, especially during the recent CAF games where he looked unprofessional in his dress code. We tried to raise the issue of his dress code but he turned a blind eye.” Mosala could not be drawn for comment as his phone was out of the network.

Attempts were also made to get him on WhatsApp but he did not respond to the message sent to him. Efforts were also made to get the team boss Chief Ally Kgomongwe but his cellphone rang unanswered when contacted yesterday.

However , Kgomongwe had stated that the coach’s days were numbers in the club following their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup in the hands of Royal AM. Highlanders co-coach Dumisani ‘DU’ Makhanya is set to drill the team in preparation for the 2022/23 season.
