Africa-Press – Eswatini. Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) met with newly elected Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Nomalungelo Simelane known as LaZwide on Thursday.
This was during the ongoing politically motivated terrorism trial of incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
After meeting the MP, the Students Union President said it was a great pleasure to meet the MP.
“She encouraged me to remain strong in fighting for democracy adding that we can affiliate to different political parties but we are fighting for one thing, democracy,” said the Students President.
Reached for comments, Nomalungelo Simelane, the newly elected Siphofaneni MP said she was happy to meet the Students Union President.
“I was happy to meet him, he is very strong and brave. He was assaulted by soldiers and I had that picture in my mind. So seeing him strong and dedicated encouraged me as well to continue standing for the truth even when facing challenges,” said the MP.
