Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) has issued an order banning Mzwakhe Myeni, the fired Lubombo District Chairperson from performing at Member of Parliament(MP) Nomalungelo ‘LaZwide’ Simelane’s thanksgiving at Siphofaneni this week.
This comes after a dramatic fallout between the President and the Lubombo Chairperson that saw the latter getting fired as a member of the movement.
Reached for comments, Myeni confirmed being banned from attending the thanksgiving of the new MP, he said he was active on the ground campaigning for LaZwide only to be fired and banned from performing at the thanksgiving event.
“It’s true that I have been banned from performing at LaZwide’s thanksgiving. I was on the ground actively campaigning for the MP only to be fired and banned from the movement and blocked from performing in the thanksgiving event for the person I was campaigning for. Note this, I was on the ground campaigning for LaZwide but now I have banned by Magawugawu who issued an order while relaxing in Canada,” said the fired Lubombo District Chairperson.
“I know that we had arranged that again on the same-vein on the 3rd September we were expecting fire from your talent but allow me to humbly forward that due to unforeseen circumstances it will not be possible for you to take the stage on that day,”reads a message sent to Mzwakhe Myeni by the SWALIMO President.
When this publication reached Mduduzi Simelane, the SWALIMO President referred comments to MP LaZwide.
“Please talk to Lazwide about the details of the 17th September event. Otherwise because I had engaged cde Mzwakhe on behalf of LaZwide then I had to disengage him on her behalf when dynamics changed. Cde Mzwakhe sent a highly sensitive voice-note insulting LaZwide and Lazwide could not accept that. That is why I had to disengage him,” said the SWALIMO President.
Efforts to reach MP LaZwide proved unsuccessful at the time of this report.
Mzwakhe Myeni was fired as SWALIMO Lubombo District Chairperson for alleged misconduct.
