Taiwan Medical Mission Empowers Intern Doctors in Cardiology

Africa-Press – Eswatini. A New wave of Eswatini doctors is sharpening their skills to tackle one of the country’s deadliest health threats. Under the Taiwan Medical Mission, intern doctors received hands-on training in diagnosing and managing high blood pressure, learning practical strategies to save lives and improve cardiovascular care.

The training, led by Dr. Kuang-Hsing Chiang, a cardiologist from Taipei Medical University Hospital, provided practical strategies for diagnosing and managing high blood pressure. Dr. Chiang emphasized the dual importance of lifestyle interventions and appropriate medication in controlling hypertension effectively.

Interns also participated in an in-depth review of medications used in cardiovascular diseases. The session covered how these drugs work, their potential side effects, and precautions, helping young doctors strengthen their knowledge to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Another notable session addressed the impact of antihypertensive medications on male sexual performance, a topic highly relevant in Eswatini’s clinical context. Interns actively engaged in discussions, sharing real-life cases from their clinical experience and asking numerous questions to deepen their understanding.

The participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the value of the knowledge gained through the program. Organizers believe that such training initiatives are key to building stronger cardiovascular care in Eswatini and improving patient outcomes in the long term.
