Africa-Press – Eswatini. Vovovo central defender Thami Zulu is on the verge of joining capital city giants Mbabane Swallows.
This publication has it in good authority that the lanky South African defender began training with the red and white glamour side on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the defender had been earmarked to replace Ghanaian international Kingsely Kwayki, who unceremoniously left the team last month together with former head coach Christopher Ennin.
A source within the capital city giants revealed that the defender will be signed before the end of next week after he was recommended by the management committee.
“Who cannot sign a good player like Zulu? We will definitely sign him as you may be aware that we’re desperately in need of a central defender,” said the source.
Vovovo Head of Marketing and Communication, Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini said they last saw the player on Monday.
“The last time he attended training was on Monday. We are aware that some teams are poaching our players; probably this is due to the fact that we have been doing well in the league. We will not stand on the way of any player who wants to leave the club.
We expect those teams who are after our players to formally approach us for talks,” he said.
The ‘Beautiful Birds’ are also believed to be chasing the signature of another Vovovo striker in Innocent Dlamini together with CAF Confederation Cup envoys Royal Leopard.
