Africa-Press – Eswatini. The subject of notching remains under active deliberation within the framework of ongoing negotiation processes, as Government maintains a steady and constructive approach to engagements with public sector unions.
In an official update, the Ministry of Public Service confirmed that discussions are progressing within established negotiation platforms, with no deadlock reached and further engagements scheduled for next week. This signals continued commitment from all parties to find a balanced and sustainable resolution.
The Ministry emphasized that any actions outside the current negotiation framework would be premature, given that structured dialogue is still underway. “At present, negotiations have not reached a deadlock, rendering any related actions premature,” the statement noted.
In a proactive move to strengthen engagement, the Prime Minister extended a formal invitation to the leadership of public sector unions to convene a dedicated meeting. The meeting is aimed at deepening dialogue and identifying a mutually agreeable path forward.
“This invitation sought to initiate a meeting dedicated to promoting dialogue and establishing a mutually agreeable course of action,” the Ministry stated.
Government further reassured public servants of its commitment to their welfare, highlighting that all processes are guided by good faith and respect for legal frameworks.
“The Government hereby reaffirms its commitment to the interests and welfare of all public servants, as well as adherence to all legally established frameworks that govern good-faith engagement at all levels,” said Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko.
The update reflects a stable and forward-looking negotiation environment, with renewed focus on dialogue, cooperation, and achieving outcomes that benefit both public servants and the nation.
