Africa-Press – Eswatini. MANZINI Wanderers striker Thembisa Shabangu is out for the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury.

The player sustained the injury during their game against Malanti Chiefs a week ago.

Manzini Wanderers Management Committee Chairman Mlungisi ‘Mluga’ Ndzinisa said the injury was serious and further confirmed that the player would be out of action for the rest of the season.

“I can confirm that we will be without Thembisa for the remainder of the season. Currently, he is undergoing physiotherapy since he is struggling to walk freely.”

He said this was a huge blow to the team.

“We would have loved to have all our players available for the remaining games but such happens in football.”

Ndzinisa said the other players in the team would step up.

“We wish him a speedy recovery. We know how frustrating it is to be out of action and this is why we will give him all the necessary support.”

Meanwhile, another player who is currently out injured is Mlandvo Dlamini, who sustained an ankle injury in their 3-2 victory over Rangers at King Sobhuza II Stadium on Tuesday.

“Mlandvo sustained a minor ankle injury in our game against Rangers, which saw him rushed to hospital. The good thing is that he was treated and discharged the same day,” he said.

The hub giants will face-off with Tambuti in their next MTN Premier League match to be played at Ka-Langa Stadium tomorrow.
