Africa-Press – Eswatini. THE country’s FIFA-accredited referees have been given a clean bill of health after passing a grueling physical fitness test yesterday morning.
The four local middlemen who enjoy the privilege of holding the FIFA badge are the experienced Thulani Sibandze, Thembinkosi Dlamini, Thokozani Dlamini and Celumusa Siphepho.
In the second assistant referees section, the likes of Petros Mbingo, Sifiso Nxumalo, Zamani Simelane and Thembinkosi Magagula passed the test alongside the ladies’ pair of Buyisile Mkhaliphi and Siphiwe Nxumalo.
The already mentioned referees were put to test at the Mavuso Sports Centre by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) national physical instructor Dumisani Hadebe with the assistance of Enock Nkambule, William ‘Mantongomane’ Shongwe and Phinda Dlamini.
Referees’ Manager Sifiso Zondo was given the assignment to observe the proceedings and provide report to the referees authorities.
Hadebe described the physical test as big success and praised all the referees who took time to avail themselves for the grueling session.
“As you have seen, the physical test went well. We conduct this test four times in a season as instructed by FIFA. In August we will have the MA Course conducted by FIFA instructors and this will be both physical and technical,”he said.
