Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) is set to reshuffle headteachers in Mbabane schools as part of a new push to strengthen academic performance and expand access to quality education.
Leading the visit, TSC Chairperson Dr. Amos Mahlalela announced that the Commission will reshuffle headteachers at selected institutions identified as centres of excellence. The move aims to strengthen leadership and uplift results in underperforming schools, ensuring every learner benefits from strong school management.
Dr. Mahlalela stressed that struggling schools must be supported to improve so that parents no longer face difficulties securing spaces for their children in high-performing institutions. He highlighted that most schools operate under similar conditions, making the performance gap unnecessary and avoidable.
The Commission has now set a bold national target: all schools are expected to achieve at least an 80 percent credit pass rate in the EGCSE examinations starting this year. The move reflects a firm commitment to accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the education system.
Dr. Mahlalela made the remarks during a visit to Hermann Gmeiner High School, the first stop of the day’s tour, as the Commission continued its journey to engage more schools and reinforce its vision of shared excellence.
The tour is expected to inspire renewed energy among educators, learners and communities while strengthening confidence in the country’s drive to deliver high-quality education for every child.
