The event was hosted by the Ministry of Health through the Eswatini National Nutrition Council, in partnership with UNICEF Eswatini and World Vision Eswatini, under the global theme “Prioritise Breastfeeding – Create Sustainable Support Systems.”
It was Officiated by Minister of Health ,Hon. Mduduzi Matsebula. Where he highlighted the urgent need for sustainable, cross-sectoral support for breastfeeding mothers from health facilities and workplaces to local communities.
“These donations are more than just pillows. They represent the comfort, care, and support that every breastfeeding mother deserves,” said a Ministry representative. “We are grateful to our partners who are helping us make this a reality.”
The breastfeeding pillows will be distributed to health facilities and community programmes where mothers often struggle with inadequate support. Both the Ministry and its partners emphasized the Importance of such tangible resources in improving breastfeeding rates and reducing child malnutrition.
As Eswatini commemorates this global week, the generous contributions stand as a reminder that small, practical gifts can make a big difference in the lives of mothers and children.
