TUCOSWA attends ILO Conference, reports teargas bus and killing of transport worker by Mswati\'s police

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Trade Union Congress of Swaziland(TUCOSWA) has attended the International Labour Organization(ILO) Conference at the United States(US)and the ILO offices in Geneva.

The Conference commenced on the 5th of June and will last till the 16th of June 2023.

Wide range of issues affecting the labour space will be discussed and they been grouped into three main themes; a just transition towards sustainable and inclusive economics, quality apprecenticeships, and labour protection.

Secretary General of TUCOSWA Mduduzi Gina said matters undergoing mediation among others are human rights violations in eSwatini.

\”Matters undergoing mediation among others include the killing of a worker Mr Sabelo Dlamini by state security forces at Luyengo during a peaceful protest action organised by the SWATCAWU on the 13th October, 2021 and the unprovoked assaults and shooting of public sector workers and throwing of teargas canisters in a bus by the police,\” said the TUCOSWA Secretary General Mduduzi Gina.
