Africa-Press – Eswatini. Seasoned broadcaster and musician Unathi Nkayi has deleted an Instagram post after people reached out to her saying the post “was hurtful to the people of Eswatini”, TimesLive, a South African publication reported.

This after Unathi posted a picture of herself on Monday posing next to the Queen Mother of Eswatini after she spent the weekend with the royal family for a wedding she was attending.

According to TimesLive, the media personality received backlash in her comment section for the post and her followers were not pleased with her for posing and even rubbing shoulders with the royals at a time when Swati people are faced with turmoil fighting for democracy in the kingdom.

TshisaLIVE reached out to the singer, who gave her explanation for deleting the IG post.

“I deleted the post because I see how much it hurt people. I am always concerned with how people feel and that spoke to me. It’s not about the backlash being warranted or not.People explained to me what’s going on and I did what I thought was right which is to delete,” Unathi told TshisaLIVE.
