Africa-Press – Eswatini. Buhleni residents should brace themselves for an exciting day as the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) rolls into town with a roadshow at The Buhleni Plaza on Saturday, 8 August from 9am. The event is part of a nationwide campaign by the EITF, hosted by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), to take the Trade Fair closer to communities and encourage Emaswati to continue to be part of this year’s event. The campaign follows a successful roadshow held at Siphofaneni on 24 July 2026, which gave residents an opportunity to learn more about what is in store at the 58th Eswatini International Trade Fair.
The EITF 2026 will take place from 28 August to 6 September at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. Hosted by EIPA under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, the Trade Fair remains the country’s premier platform for business, trade and investment.
The public attending the roadshows will also learn about the many opportunities the exhibition presents. EITF Spokesperson Siphesihle Nkhabindze said the roadshows are open to everyone from a business owner, entrepreneur, student or visitor, youth and any member of the public. The roadshows offer a first-hand look at what to expect at Eswatini’s biggest annual business event.
“As we reach out to the communities, our message is ‘ungasali’ do not miss out on attending the Trade Fair and benefiting from the opportunities it presents. The roadshows promise an exciting blend of business, entertainment and community engagement while giving emaSwati the opportunity to be part of the journey towards another successful Eswatini International Trade Fair,” he said.
He explained that for businesses and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the roadshows provide valuable information on how the Trade Fair can help increase visibility, attract new customers and build business partnerships. They also highlight the networking opportunities available with local and international exhibitors, buyers and investors.
Visitors will also be introduced to the EITF Mobile App, which has become an important part of the Trade Fair experience. The app allows users to enter the exciting Win a Car competition, follow the daily programme and participate in the Stand Excellence Competition. Organisers will also share information on the wide range of entertainment planned during the exhibition, including football matches, cultural performances and various sporting activities.
This year’s Trade Fair will be held under the theme, Unlocking Green Economy Opportunities for Sustainable Trade Promotion. The theme is a call to action for exhibitors to showcase innovative products, sustainable business practices and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives that contribute to a greener economy.
The 58th edition also continues to embrace its Connect | Create | Grow concept. Connect is about bringing together local and international businesses with buyers and suppliers. Create provides a platform for innovation, fresh ideas and new products. Grow reflects the Trade Fair’s commitment to expanding commerce, attracting investment and creating new economic opportunities for Eswatini.
The 2026 edition is already shaping up to be the biggest yet. More than 400 exhibitors have expressed interest in participating, compared to 282 exhibitors in 2025. Last year’s event also attracted more than 70,000 visitors, reflecting growing interest from businesses and consumers both locally and internationally.
EIPA encourages residents of Buhleni to come out to the Buhleni Plaza in large numbers to learn more about the many opportunities at the Trade Fair.
