Africa-Press – Eswatini. Princess Lungile,the wife to the late Mbabane Swallows boss Victor Gamedze has been rejected as the new Chairperson by a faction led by Welile Mabuza.
In a letter dated 30th July 2024, addressed to the Acting Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Premier League of Eswatini(PLE), Welile Mabuza,the current Legal Advisor stated categorically that,the leadership of the club remain unchanged.
This comes after Princess Lungile and her faction held a press conference earlier on Tuesday announcing herself as the new Chairperson of the Football Club.
“It has been brought to our attention that certain individuals masquerading as Elders of the Club, convened a press conference and announced Mrs Lungile Gamedze as the new leader of the Mbabane Swallows F.C.The said press conference has not be sanctioned by the club and is the work of a faction whose sole purpose is to bring instability with the club.Kindly be advised that,the leadership of the club as contained in the legal ownership form that has been filed with the Premier League of Eswatini remain unchanged”,reads the letter in part.
Efforts to reach Princess Lungile for a comment, proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments on Wednesday, Bishop Bheki Lukhele,the then Mbabane Swallows President said, he also learned through the news that,another faction has announced Princess Lungile as the Chairperson.
“I will check what is happening because even though I asked to step down,I’m still part of Mbabane Swallows”,he said when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Wednesday.
