Vusweni Community Launches New Dip Tank Milestone

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The residents of Vusweni Inkhundla came together on Wednesday, 10 September 2025 to celebrate the official launch of a new dip tank, a project jointly spearheaded by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The event drew an impressive turnout, with local farmers and community members showing strong support for the initiative, which is set to improve livestock management, control diseases, and enhance agricultural productivity across the region.

Buhle Dlamini, representing the Microprojects Programme, welcomed attendees and introduced the construction team. She highlighted the importance of community involvement in the project, emphasising that the dip tank belongs to the residents themselves. “This is your project,” she said. “Your input and commitment will determine its success.” Dlamini further shared that the facility is expected to be fully operational within three weeks, a timeline that has generated excitement across Vusweni.

Also attending the launch, community leader Maseko underscored the broader significance of the dip tank for local development. He praised the dedication and collaboration of Vusweni residents, noting that their unity has always been central to achieving progress. “Together, we can achieve great things,” he remarked, urging the community to continue working hand-in-hand to maximise the benefits of the project.

Beyond its practical applications, the dip tank symbolises hope and progress for the community. The initiative reflects a shared commitment between government institutions and local residents to promote sustainable agricultural practices, improve animal health, and uplift the livelihoods of farmers.

The new facility will provide a safer, more efficient environment for treating livestock, reducing the risk of tick-borne diseases, and increasing the overall productivity of herds. Farmers anticipate that this development will contribute to food security, income generation, and resilience within the local agricultural sector.

With a strong spirit of teamwork and determination at the heart of the project, the people of Vusweni are poised to reap the rewards of a more prosperous and sustainable future.
