WANDERERS RECORD FIFTH DRAW

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Hub giants Manzini Wanderers recorded their fifth draw of the season against Manzini Sea Birds at Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday, which saw them continue with their winless run.

The two sides played to a nil –all stalemate with no superior side in the opening minutes of the game.

Wanderers lacked cutting edge, which is perhaps the story of their current campaign. Every time they had the ball, they wasted it.

Striker Sandile Maseko was played through on goal but failed to control it, which resulted in him having it snatched off him by Sea Birds’ defender Gcinizwi Dlamini.

The chances kept coming at both ends and Sea Birds had the better of the chances just before half time, when the ball went across Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza’s six-yard box, but no Sea Birds player was in the box to finish the chance.

The deadlock was almost broken at the stroke of half-time, but the ball couldn’t find the back of the net as they went to the dressing rooms level. Whatever Sea Birds head coach Sibusiso Mngometulu said at half-time seemed to work as Sea Birds made a fast start to the second half.

Muzi Tsabedze left the home defence panicking with a jinking run into the box. The former Sihlangu striker’s effort was deflected wide. For a moment, Wanderers attacking intent opened the game up, but striker Sandile Maseko kept on missing chances. Both sides were in doubt as they failed to score till stoppage time.
