Africa-Press – Eswatini. Despite not winning their match, police side Royal Leopard head coach Edwin Matsebula believes they still have a chance to win the league.
He said this after playing a 1-1 all draw against Mbabane Swallows at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre on Saturday.
Matsebula said they would work hard to maintain their position at the top of the MTN Premier League log table.
Coming to the match, Matsebula said it was a game of two halves.
He said they played well in the first half while their opponents were better in the second stanza.
“It is always difficult to play against Mbabane Swallows. The league is at a crucial stage where no team wants to lose.”
He said they came prepared for this match as they scored first.
“Our game plan was to get and early goal. We did create scoring opportunities but we were not clinical in front of goal.”
He said the draw was a true reflection of the match and they would take the point and move on.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows head coach Caleb Ngwenya said they were unlucky not to score the winning goal.
He said they would do better in their next match.
“It was a tough game and I want to thank my players for fighting until the end. I will encourage my players to do better.”
He said they wanted to win this match and improve their position on the log table.
“We gave them too much space in their first half and they punished us. We were the better side in the second half and we even scored the equalising goal.”
Ngwenya said they would go back to the drawing board and work on their finishing.
