The police should do something about this anonymous Aational Assembly cars. This cars has now begins to cost us lives. The last time I checked was almost a year ago when one of this donated anonymous car belonging to a reckless NAM was involved in a deadly accident around Denton bridge. This is the second time, yesterday another fatal accident involving this cars again causing the death 3 and injuring others. The deaths includes a renoun Gambian journalist and an activist,Ceesay Jaha Sawaneh. For how long would this continue with this anonymous cars that no one don’t know their whereabouts or who donated them and what for? It’s high time our police to act to safe lives. There are too much negligence, reckless, and drinking driving our roads causing lot’s of avoidable deaths. What is even more interesting is that the culprits found guilty are either free or given very linear sentences. Some Gambians are even doubting the durability and security of this cars, how secured are these anonymous cars?
When it’s good or bad we say it’s God,the fact is,when it’s bad it’s never God,its us,lets stop blaming God for our own deliberate or avoidable actions.Africa and the Gambia in particular is not moving because of this culture of God,God thing is everything. To my understanding, this anonymous cars are not given to NAM’s to take as their personal property but instead the cars are given to their constituencies,so it’s not their personal property. Its like most this NAM’s are abusing or mishandling this cars, infact some Gambians argued that whether all this NAM’s were trained or experienced drivers or is the NA hiring drivers for them? We are trying to link the cars
I am not against this cars given to NAM’s,however I am against the anonymity nature of the cars,we want to know who gave them and what for and whether the guy who donated them has no link or interest in government.
One possible scenario on the caused of the last accident involving the two MPs could be either one or both of the drivers is/are not experienced. There is no concluding report on the yesterday’s accident however a police officer who spoke to me hasn’t ruled out over speeding as the caused of the fatal accident. We are trying to link the cars to establish the connection between the first and the second accident involving this anonymous cars.
It is imperative that the National Assembly service and the police asses the driving experience of all members who receive this a donated cars and provide extra free driving lessons to those who may need it.
