Africa-Press – Ghana. Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, has paid a courtesy call on Tredehene, Nana Nuben Sra III, and his elders at the Trede Palace as part of efforts to strengthen ties with traditional authorities.

Accompanied by the Presiding Member, Mr. Anthony Kwame Nsiah, other Assembly officials, and some party faithful, the visit formed part of the DCE’s ongoing engagement with traditional authorities in the district.

Mrs. Asamoah outlined her vision for the district and sought their support and guidance to foster accelerated development.

She expressed deep appreciation to both the appointing authority and the chiefs for the overwhelming support she had received since assuming office.

“I am here to serve the people of Atwima Kwanwoma and will always remain open to concerns, suggestions, and constructive advice from all stakeholders,” she stated during her interaction with the traditional leaders.

The DCE appealed to the chiefs to consider her as one of their own and offer their wise counsel to ensure her administration succeeds for the collective benefit of the district.

“In all human institutions, disagreements are inevitable, but they should not derail our commitment to development.

I call for unity across all fronts as we pursue our goal of economic growth and transformation,” she emphasised.

She addressed some of the concerns raised by the traditional leaders and assured them of her commitment to working closely with them to address the development needs of their communities.

Mrs. Asamoah urged the chiefs to partner with the Assembly in addressing critical issues such as sanitation, security, and the rising social vices among the youth.

She further encouraged them to promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), especially among young girls, noting that TVET holds the key to sustainable livelihoods.

Nana Nuben Sra III congratulated the DCE and commended her for her dedication since taking office.

He pledged the support of the traditional council and expressed his willingness to collaborate with her to tackle the menace of illegal mining (galamsey) and reclaim degraded lands for productive use.

“I am fully committed to joining hands with you to eliminate illegal mining activities in the district and ensure that affected lands are restored and put to proper use,” he assured.

The traditional leaders used the occasion to highlight several pressing developmental challenges in their respective communities and appealed to DCE for prompt interventions.
