Africa-Press – Ghana. Madam Faustina Elikplim Korwu, the Assembly Member of Avoeme West Electoral Area, in the Ketu South Constituency of the Volta Region, has declared her intention to contest to be the deputy women’s organiser in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area.
When she officially announced her candidacy, she emphasised the need for a strong, transparent and dedicated woman to keep the party competitive.
“Let me emphasis that no political party in our country here can survive without a solid, vibrant, and well-organised women’s wing; and l am the rightful aspirant for that the position in Ketu South,” she said.
In her declaration, she indicated to the Ghana News Agency, that a weak organisational structure would ultimately lead to decline.
She warned that a political party without an organised women with a truthful, dedicated and vibrant servant-leader would wither and die.
Madam Korwu underscored the importance of modern women management and argued that the NDC must align its women’s organisation with love and care to promote and improve development.
“I pledge to bring youthful energy anchored in trust, competence, and transparency to the role. I know I’m the best person to take on the mantle for the success of the party,” she said.
She pledged to bring real pragmatic experience of the grassroots, which is the heartbeat and pulse of the NDC party, as well as introduce new, innovative and exciting ideas and programmes to put the party on sound footing for 2028 general election victory.
Madam Korwu vowed to help maintain the NDC in power by ensuring accountability, accessibility, and integrity across all levels of the party and make the branch women’s structure vibrant, mobilise support, empower women, and drive the party’s agenda forward.
She appealed to party members to give her the opportunity to serve for better future for women and the party, adding that, “Vote massively for me for a better future of the women and the party.”
The position of deputy women organiser is seen as crucial in the NDC’s efforts to strengthen its women’s wing and increase its competitiveness in the Ketu South Constituency.
Madam Faustina’s candidacy is expected to inject new energy into the party’s women’s organization, and her experience as an assembly member has given her a deep understanding of the party’s needs.
The NDC’s decision on the deputy women organiser position would be closely watched, as it may have implications for the party’s performance in future elections.
