Berekum East MP Breaks Ground for NHIA Office Complex

Africa-Press – Ghana. Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East, has performed ground breaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of an ultra-modern office complex for the Berekum office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

Speaking at a short ceremony at Berekum in the Bono Region, he said the project, being funded by the government, was expected to be completed within a few months to create a larger space for the NHIA.

According to the MP, the Berekum office of the Authority lacked space and often created congestion, compelling the people to travel to either Dormaa-Ahenkro or Sunyani to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Elder Ampaabeng said he had prioritized good health and pledged his commitment to help tackle emerging challenges confronting quality healthcare delivery in the Berekum Municipality.

On completion, he said the people would easily access the office that would greatly help NHIS enrolment in the municipality.

Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar, the Berekum Municipal Chief Executive, commended the MP for his efforts towards enhancing quality healthcare delivery in the municipality.

Mr Isaac Adu Amponsah, the Bono Regional Manager of the NHIA, expressed appreciation to the government for the payment of service providers, enabling clients to access quality services at the various accredited health facilities.
