Africa-Press – Ghana. The Hilltop Football Academy, the youth football team of Hilltop Platinum Schools based in Kumasi, has arrived in Hjørring, Denmark, to participate in the prestigious 2025 Dana Cup, one of the world’s largest international youth football tournaments.

The Dana Cup, Denmark’s biggest sporting event, has been held annually since 1982 and has welcomed over 980,000 participants from more than 120 countries.

Held in the North Jutland region, the tournament brings together over 1,000 youth teams each year, offering a vibrant platform for young football talents across the globe to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and foster cultural exchange through sport.

This marks the first appearance of the Hilltop Football Academy in the tournament.

The Academy, officially registered with the Registrar General’s Department and recognised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is making its international debut with hopes of elevating the profile of Ghanaian youth football on the global stage.

The team is led by Mr. Kester Mensah, the Facility Manager and Public Relations Officer of Hilltop Platinum Schools.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) ahead of the team’s departure, Mr. Mensah expressed optimism about their prospects.

“The boys have trained intensively and are motivated to give their best.

We are determined to make a strong impression as first-time participants and represent Ghana with pride and honour,” he stated.

Mr. Mensah added that, beyond the competition, the tournament presented an invaluable opportunity for the young players to gain international exposure, experience diverse playing styles, and build lifelong memories through cultural interactions.
