Africa-Press – Ghana. Asante Kotoko ended a four-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kwame Opoku’s solitary strike ensured Kotoko moved up to third in the standings with 24 points.
Dreams FC pressed for an equaliser late on but Kotoko held firm under pressure to secure maximum points.
Hearts of Oak also claimed a narrow win, beating Nations FC 1-0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Hamza Issah’s second-half header secured the points for the Phobians, who are fourth on the table and remain in contention for the league title.
Swedru All Blacks continued their strong form with a 2-0 home win over Vision FC, their third victory in four matches.
Clement Tutu opened the scoring before an own goal from David Ofori sealed the result, lifting the newly promoted side to 10th place. Vision FC’s winless run stretched to six games.
Berekum Chelsea earned a crucial 1-0 win over Hohoe United at Golden City Park, with Prince Anane scoring in the 78th minute.
Bechem United beat bottom side Eleven Wonders 1-0 thanks to Augustine Mensah’s penalty, moving within three points of safety.
Aduana FC stayed top of the table after a 1-0 away win over Heart of Lions courtesy a second half strike from Patrick Mensah.
