Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr. Bawah Fuseini, Director of the National Sports College, says efforts are underway to elevate the college into a premier sports institution in Africa.
With less than a year in office, the institution is beginning to gain stability, demonstrating steady progress and a renewed sense of direction, marked by the successful introduction of Ghana’s first-ever sports psychology course.
Mr. Bawah in an interviewsaid, “Efforts are underway to make the sports college a different college in Africa and not only in Ghana. We will make it attractive for people to be able to train.”
He stated that the college’s transformational plan goes beyond football, aiming to bring together all sporting disciplines to create a more inclusive and comprehensive sports development hub.
He again noted that with the backing of Mr. Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister of Sports and Recreation, the college has partnered with the National Sports Authority and Ghana Athletics to roll out training programs geared towards advancing comprehensive sports development.
The recent project of the National Sports College is the introduction of the Soccer Academy Recruitment Exercise designed to identify and nurture young talents over the next four years.
The Director encouraged Ghanaians, particularly those in the sports fraternity, to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the college.
The National Sports College, Winneba is a distinguished institution dedicated to the comprehensive development of sports professionals and the elevation of sporting standards across Ghana.
With a rich legacy spanning decade, the college has been at the forefront of shaping the future of sports education across Africa.
