Africa-Press – Ghana. Cynthia Kwabi delivered a commanding performance to clinch the Sheroes 2 “Love Edition” Singles title on Saturday, overpowering her opponents through the knockout stages to emerge champion.
Kwabi demonstrated composure and consistency throughout the competition, navigating a competitive group stage to book her place in the main draw of the tournament organised by the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA).
In the round of 16, she defeated Millicent Mettle 3–0 in a straight-sets victory that underlined her intent.
She maintained her fine form in the quarterfinals, dispatching Celia Baah Danso 4–1, before overcoming Hilda Agbottah 4–2 in a closely contested semi-final encounter.
The final clash against Joanita Borteye was expected to produce fireworks, but Kwabi quickly asserted her authority.
With sharp placement and a steady tempo, she controlled proceedings and secured a convincing 4–1 victory to seal the championship.
The tournament also marked the end of Augustina Baidoo’s pursuit of a third consecutive Sheroes title.
The two-time champion settled for a joint third-place finish, drawing the curtain on her impressive run in the series.
Borteye finished as runner-up after an outstanding journey to the final, while Hilda Agbottah and Augustina Baidoo claimed joint third-place honours.
Kwabi’s triumph adds a new name to the growing legacy of the Sheroes Series and sets the tone for the upcoming “Show Time” edition scheduled for February 21, 2026, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
