Africa-Press – Kenya. Azimio La Umoja Coalition continues to suffer political losses as leaders troop into State House to pledge their support to the Kenya Kwanza government
On Wednesday, leaders from Trans Nzoia led by Governor George Natembeya met President William Ruto at State House. State House press secretary Emmanuel Talam said that the leaders engaged in development talks.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi were also in attendance. Natembeya said he was committed to working and supporting the President.
“We will work with the government. I was among the first leaders to congratulate the President and I recognise his leadership,” he said.
President Ruto emphasised that he has an open-door policy and will work with all leaders. “I commit to working with all leaders and for all Kenyans irrespective of their political affiliations,” he said.
Natembeya has been warming up to Ruto by attending his functions when he tours Rift Valley. On Tuesday, Natembeya vowed to work with the government to develop the county, adding that Western leaders are tired of being in the opposition.
“As Trans Nzoia, we want to reclaim our position by working with the national government,” he said.
