Africa-Press – Kenya. Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku has called on Azimio leader Raila Odinga to change his political tactics.
Ruku who was speaking to K24 on Thursday said Raila Odinga needs to accept the outcome of the Presidential elections and change his outlook, sentiments and actions on matters to do with mass demonstrations.
“Raila Odinga needs to change his tacts. He has employed the same tacts from the time of President Kibaki, to Uhuru Kenyatta and now to William Samoei Ruto,” Ruku said.
The MP addressed the economy saying events across the world such as the Ukraine war and the Covid-19 pandemic have played a huge role in the increased cost of living being felt in the country currently.
“The cost of living, yes is a problem not only in Kenya but also in the rest of the world. We should at least understand the dynamics internationally because no nation is an island. We’re all interdependent,” he said.
“If you look at 2022 August, what was the cost of unga? It was about Sh240, at the moment it is at sh 170.”
Ruku applauded President William Ruto indicating that the government has fulfilled the 100-day promises it made to Kenyans in the electioneering period.
“Whatever was promised in 100 days has been achieved. One is the cost of unga and cooking oil which has come down. We have hustlers who could not fund their samosa business, maize roasting business, today they are able to access a loan and fund their business,” Ruku said
