Africa-Press – Kenya. Jubilee Party has appointed Hon. Jeremiah Kioni as its Deputy Party Leader (Operations) as part of a sweeping leadership reorganisation aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The announcement was made following a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting chaired by the Party Leader, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kioni’s new role places him at the centre of the party’s efforts to streamline operations, ensure compliance with party processes, and coordinate activities from grassroots levels to the national stage.

He will also spearhead the party’s engagement and alliance-building with political and societal stakeholders, Jubilee officials said.

According to Jubilee Party, the NEC meeting comes at a time when many Kenyans are experiencing rising living costs, economic pressure, and a government that has ‘prioritised rhetoric over results.’

The party emphasised that the restructuring is designed to position Jubilee as a “credible national alternative grounded in structure, policy, and grassroots engagement.”

In addition to Kioni’s appointment, the NEC approved a series of key leadership positions. Ole Kenta was appointed Secretary General, with Zack Kinuthia named Deputy Secretary General. Yassin Noor Haji will serve as National Organising Secretary, and Vincent Mogaka Kimoki assumes the role of Chairperson.

Dan Mwangi will be Executive Director, while Kembi Gitura takes on the role of Director of Elections. Peter Kados was appointed Chair of the MCA Caucus, and Saitoti Torome will oversee Jubilee Foundation’s public policy work.

According to the party, these changes are a deliberate effort to rebuild Jubilee as a disciplined and nationally rooted organisation capable of offering clear solutions to the challenges facing Kenyans.

“The NEC resolved to strengthen the Jubilee Party’s leadership and organisational structures in preparation for the 2027 General Election,” the party said in a statement.

The restructuring reflects a shift in focus toward internal discipline, policy articulation, and practical governance. Jubilee officials highlighted that the move aims to contrast the party’s approach with what they described as “policy confusion, economic pressure, and governance fatigue being experienced under the current administration.”

The party also reaffirmed its commitment to core principles, including unity, social justice, and economic recovery. Jubilee emphasised that its leadership will “listen to citizens, respect institutions, and deliver practical outcomes not excuses.”

Political analysts say the reorganisation signals Jubilee’s intent to consolidate its base, strengthen its national footprint, and present a clear alternative as Kenya heads toward the 2027 polls.

Kioni, a seasoned politician, is expected to play a pivotal role in coordinating these efforts and ensuring the party is aligned from local branches to national leadership structures.

As Jubilee embarks on this reorganisation, the party has called on its members and supporters to embrace the new leadership structure, emphasising that disciplined operations and policy-driven engagement are central to the party’s vision.

With Kioni at the helm of operations, Jubilee is positioning itself to actively challenge the ruling administration on economic and governance issues while presenting a platform centred on accountability, grassroots participation, and practical solutions for Kenyans.

Kenta, the new SG, is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi.

He was first elected to Parliament in 2013 on a The National Alliance (TNA) ticket and served two consecutive terms. He later contested the Narok County gubernatorial seat in the 2022 General Election.

In addition to his parliamentary service, Kenta has held positions in several public institutions, including serving as chairman of Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) and as a director at the Geothermal Development Company (GDC).

The party said Kenta brings experience in elective politics, legal practice, strategic management and institutional governance at a time when Jubilee is strengthening its internal structures ahead of the next general election.

In a statement, the party called on its members, supporters and partners to support Kenta as he takes up the role of Secretary General.

The leadership changes come as Jubilee continues to reorganise its top structures amid renewed efforts to position itself competitively ahead of the 2027 polls.
